3.

4.

Beautiful, also agreeable; delightful. Lustful.

Certainly Miss Lyon is healthy, though at times after many nights' work on THE LADDER she may not be so full of vigor. She is jolly and merry has a delightful sense of humor and sometimes is known to giggle. She is quite attractive and most agreeable.

-

But now wo are down to lustful which by the same dictionary is defined as:

1. Having carnal or sensual desire.

2. Vigorous; lusty.

Does "having carnal or sensual desire" mean one's ordinary sex urge? Since Miss Lyon had already been described as a healthy, attractive young woman, it would seem safe to assume that she sometimes has "certain urges of a soxual nature".

So according to definition (being healthy, jolly, attractive, delightful and admittedly having the usual sex drives), Miss Lyon just may possibly be a bit lusty. This is the only concession we will make as to her being burly.

-

But as far as being bluff or rough in manner, there isn't a word of truth in it. Phyllis is a very personable young woman, mild-mannered, the peace-maker type why I oven have to return the rejected manuscripts for THE LADDER! Anyone who has met Miss Lyon personally will agree that she is most courteous and considerate.

So it would seem to me that Mr. Dixon does not know whereof he speaks and is guilty of poetic license or a poor Is our editor burly? We think not!

choice of adjective.
